I always wondered who these people were that had so much say on what TV shows stay and which ones go. I assumed they were that fifties family with that son who was a rocker and they watched a lot of TV when they weren’t doing their sitcom and everyone loved them so this is how we got bad TV shows.
Nope that is not it at all it is The Pressley’s who have afforded you such great shows as: Tosh, Reds Baseball, Mike and Molly, Vampire Diaries, Brothers and Sisters, Grays Anatomy, American Idol, Country Music Videos, ABC News, Greta Van Sustren, Rules of Engagement, How I met your mother, Modern Family and probably one or two others.
I am personally responsible for Tosh, Reds, Modern Family and Greta. Nancy gets most the rest and I tag a long on a few of them.
It is amazing what I will do for five dollars that is what I received for logging everything our house watched for one week, that is some righteous money Star Bucks here I come.
So this fall when you loose your favorite show I guess it is my fault this year. I am only glad they don’t have a Nielsen rating for my computer viewing because the stuff I look at makes me blush and I have a great tan.

On the top of a ladder by yourself it is hard to blame the dog for that odor
At a stop light on the way to a job I noticed a nose picker, a text er, a singer and a cell phone conversation I believe that is BINGO
It is never a good idea to startle the customers sleeping dog
After loosing a Band-Aid from my finger I thought it would be an appropriate time to pinch it again with the big ladder.
Wiping your face off with a dirty rag is gross even by my standards
It was hot today and even hotter on a roof
Is it OK to pee in the bathroom when the customer is gone? Probably not so their tree is a much better idea.

Heaven
If I believed in Heaven I think it would be about ninety degrees with a light breeze from the south. I would be in a pair of board shorts with a cool drink in my hand Sparks most likely. My wife would be lying on a float in the pool laughing in a bikini. All four of my kids would be there playing cards and telling jokes making fun of each other ending in a belly laugh. My dog would jump in the pool and swim all by herself she is a Bulldog this is a trick. This all takes place after a Baseball Game was played and enjoyed. The day would be capped off with a cook out and my whole family sitting at the table all together.
Yes Virginia there is a Heaven because this is exactly how I spent my day.

Mother and Daughter
This is a picture of a picture sorry it was the only way I could share it and I have wanted to for a while now. It is one of my favorite items; my two girls and the expressions of mother and daughter and Kaits face of unknown things yet safety in her mother’s arms it means the world to me and always will.
This weekend my son had his graduation open house and a friend brought his two month old daughter over. It was absolutely amazing to watch all the woman argue and fuss over her and awesome too. The funniest moment was when my soon to be nineteen year old son sat down with her and all the eighteen year old little girl’s eyes just started fluttering. I am sure he did it on purpose the boy is good.
His mother is holding her here and the answer is no F’n way…
The Game That Should Have Never Ended
There have been as many as six on six for a total of twelve players and as few as two on two for four players. There have been cousins, aunts, uncles, moms, dads, sons, daughters and I think a grand parent or two but the game always happened sixty degrees or six below, rain, ice, snow or sun but just like the Turkey it always happens every Thanksgiving. At about mid day the talk starts: you bring a change of cloths? Yes, you? Duh, but you’re so old it won’t matter anyway and then it is on! “Let’s go” everyone files out for the annual Pressley Thanksgiving Football Game.
I believe it would have been fifteen years old this past November but some how weather and schedules fell apart. I felt bad that day like I had lost a friend and it has haunted me for six months now and then today my sister sent me pictures of last years game and I knew immediately what needs to happen. Announcing: The new and improved Pressley Football Game First Annual Tradition starting this November 2011.
The game is just a little different than the NFL they are much slower than these fine athletes.

To Hank from Ms. Owen
If, by Joseph Rudyard Kipling
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
but make allowance for their doubting too,
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
Or being lied about, don’t deal in lies,
Or being hated, don’t give way to hating
And yet not look too good, nor talk too wise:
If you can dream - but not make dreams your master,
If you can think - but not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
And treat those two imposters just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you’ve spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build them up with worn-out tools
If you can make one heap of all your winnings
And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on, when there is nothing in you
Except the Will which says to them: “Hold on!”
If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with kings, yet not lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
If all men count with you, but none too much,
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
With sixty seconds’ worth of distance run
Yours is the Earth and everything in it,
And, what is more, you’ll be a Man, my son!
If you can keep your head when all about you
Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you
but make allowance for their doubting too,

A heart like mine
When my names called on a roll
They'll meet me with two long stem glasses
Make a toast to me coming home
'Cause I heard Jesus, He drank wine
And I bet we'd get along just fine
He could calm a storm and heal the blind
And I bet He'd understand a heart like mine.
Miranda Lambert
The sins you like best are the ones you should probably stay away from, but in my experience they are the ones we make excuses for our whole life.
I rehabbed a friend from a cocaine addiction he was told after his heart attack if you do not quit you will die. He did not quit and six months later he was dead.
I had a friend that knew his woman was no good for him, after years of her actions he put a hose in his cars exhaust.
I watched a friend drink until his life was a mess, I will never forget the empty feeling I had helping lower his casket into the ground.
All of these guys had hearts as big as Texas they were all so kind to everyone except them self’s. I think Jesus or who ever you pray to understands that some people are just to soft for this world I am pretty sure if you just judged these guys by appearance you would have walked away, but if you had ever sat down with any of them you would have found a friend with a soft side for life just not their own.

Thanks lord I needed that
We get what we need when we need it. I had just written how tired of volunteer projects I am and with in a week thoughts, words and complements roll in.
The board of Golden Gloves asked me to stay on as an officer I knew this would happen and I am most likely out on that but it is still nice to be asked.
While watching a recent High School Baseball game last week it occurred to me that I had coached 13 of the 15 kids on one Varsity team and 3 of the kids on the apposing team. Then two days later in the sports section of the newspaper there was a picture of the winning pitcher for the city tourney and yes I coached him also.
But finally the absolute best ever while arriving at a HS game a starting player from the other team walked off the field while warming up and came over to me. He started by giving me a hug and said this. “Coach I wanted to thank you for working with me and tell you that I remember you telling us when we were younger that your goal for us was to be good HS ball players. Well guess what there are so many of us going on to play College ball next season including me I am playing at Hanover and I wanted to Thank You.”
Do you have any idea how hard it is to not tear up when a young man at 18 does that? Honestly I had to turn my head..But wow what a moment.
I am probably still done but the fork in me doesn’t seem to hurt now.

Spiders don’t talk
Bees talk, wasp’s talk, once a bunny talked and always birds but never spiders. They just bite and move on how rude.
I work in bushes, basement window wells, under roof over hangs and just generally places where critters hang out. Instead of shooing off these guys I talk to them it is amazing if you do not swat and stay calm to the point of blending in with them they will either just move on or watch as I go about my job. Once I had a bird actually fly up on a rung of the ladder with me and coo away as I worked. Bees and wasps will look upset till you ask them to move on in a soft voice and they do –my partner can’t figure this out so he works inside but has watched me do this and just shakes his head as they leave or settle in- On another occasion a bunny actually came out of the bushes and watched me work for nearly fifteen minuets less than two feet away.
Spiders for some reason did not get this memo they always bite on a average size home I will be bit between 5 to 6 times on occasion I will have more than my feel of this from them and they get the hose they loose to bad. Learn the language or swim away shit heads.

Stick a fork in me, I am done
As I lie here bleeding from lack of sleep I find myself smiling because a three year journey is over. In 2008 we flew out to The National Golden Gloves and put our bid in to host the tournament in 2011 and we won the bid.
Over three years we had to meet with: The city, The Convention Center, The Mayor, The Governor, Indiana Golden Gloves, National Golden Gloves and quite literally hundreds of vendors.
We secured the top 600 amateur fighters and staff in the nation; we were the first convention to book the new JW Marriott, secured the convention center, raised a thirty thousand dollar deposit in one month and went on to raise a hundred and fifty thousand dollars just to open the doors.
The press came, a few celebrities, roughly 6000 fans –we feel short of our 10,000 fans- and lots of fight clubs.
We saw to it that the fighters were transferred to and from the airport and got to see the city including a lap around the Indy 500 track.
Honestly I am selling this short when you think of electricians, seats, tables, announcers, score keepers, computer systems, lights, sound, rings, bells and so on the bottom line it has been a very long three years.
The night before the finals Indiana presented me with a life time achievement award a pass to all tournaments for ever. I had no idea this was going to happen and caught me off guard. I have to say I was very proud of myself and taken back.
I realize coming off of this week I should not make any decisions but truthfully I am done I have volunteered for Baseball, Swimming, Boxing and a few other projects for over the past eighteen years. I am shot its somebody else’s turn to pick up the ball I am out coach my volunteer number is retired.
